今回は関西学院大学の2月2日日程の問題を見ていくことにする。代々木ゼミナールでも解答速報を行っているが、解法のプロセスを含めて見ていく。今回扱う問題は、関西学院大学の2月1日と比べてかなり解きやすいため、満点を狙いたい問題レベルであった。
大問4 次の英文(1)～(10)の空所に入れるのに最も適当なものを、それぞれ下記の①～④の中から1つ選び、その記号をマークしなさい。

[解法のポイント]
(1) 空欄の後ろが「目的語＋to 動詞の原形」の形を取れるのは、① enableのみである。
(2) [動詞の語法]「物事＋strike＋人」「人に物事を思い浮かぶ」→ ④が正解となる。
(3) 文意で考えると、「私たちのピクニックに理想的な天気であることが（ 3 ）。」となることから、turn out A 「Aが分かる」という意味が適切になる。
(※ turn in A「Aを提出する」・turn down A 「Aを断る」)
(4) [熟語] be likely to A 「Aする可能性が高い」→ ③が正解となる。
(5) 空欄の後ろには、「me(人)＋ a few minutes (時間)」という形になっているので、It takes＋人＋時間「人が～するのに時間を費やす」が正解となる。(※ It spends＋人＋金額「人に～するのにお金がかかる」→ 今回は金額ではないためNGである)
(6) 空欄の後ろに不定詞があることから、「疑問詞＋to 不定詞」に着目をする。そこで、文意を考えると、「どのようにして私たちの新製品に関する彼女の不思議なコメントを解釈するべきなのか」となることから、①のhowが正解となる。
(7) 本文訳を考えると、「彼女の母は有名な作家であり、彼女の作品は世界中で( )されている」という意味であることから、① admire「称賛される」が正解となる。さらに、②・③を入れると「現在完了進行形」になるが、一時点を表す表現がないためNG。
(8) [熟語] call for A「Aを要求する」→ ③ forが正解となる。
(9) 本文の動詞はhasであり単数であることから、② eachが正解となる。(※ ①のeveryも単数表現ではあるが、everyは形容詞であるため、every ofという表現はない)
(10) [熟語] refer to A 「Aについて言及する・述べる」→ ③が正解である。
