今年も２月に入り大学入試の本格的なシーズンになりました。受験生のみなさんは体調管理に気をつけながら学習を進めていき、第１志望校に向けて頑張ってもらえればと思います。さて、教育業界で働く私にとっては、入試問題の分析も私の仕事の１つと考えています。そこで、昨年度に引き続き、解答速報を英語の文法・語法問題を中心に、このブログでも実施をしていきたいと思います。それでは早速でありますが、今回は２月１日に実施された関西学院大学・大問４の４択形式の英文法・語法問題を扱いたいと思います。どれも基本的な問題であるため、正解をしたい問題であり、これから入試を控える受験生にも実力試しで解いても良問が揃っています。また、解説も簡易的ではありますが、こちらも参考にして、今後の勉強に役立ててもらえれば嬉しいです。

(1) 文構造に着目をすると、<For academics> the recognition(S) {[関代省略] they gain <by advancing knowledge> <in their field>} ( )(V) insufficient (C).となるので、the recognitionが主語であるから、動詞の呼応を考えると、単数形の(D)が正解。
(2) 熟語に関する問題で品詞は同じなので、文意で考えると「自然環境を犠牲にして」となるので、(A)のat the cost of Aが正解。（for the purpose of A「Aが目的で」・on account of A「Aの理由で」）
